Tai Chi Chuan is a “soft” martial art known for promoting optimal health and
healing. It combines gentle physical exercise with stretching and
mindfulness to harmonize the mind, body, and spirit. Benefits include
improved muscle and joint strength, enhanced focus, and increased
flexibility and balance.
Beginning instruction teaches basic alignments, walking and warmup
exercises, breathing techniques, and a short sequence that can be
practiced at home. More advanced training is also available.

Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese practice that is one of the oldest and most basic forms of energy medicine (along with acupuncture) for health and longevity. “Qi” can be translated as “breath” and “vital life energy” that exists in all things.

Qi Gong practice combines slow, gentle movements with deep breathing techniques to open the meridians, balance energies, improve circulation, and purify internal systems which boost immunity. Regular practice stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system for deep relaxation, and refines mental, physical, and spiritual development, helping to correct the imbalances of daily living.

Qi Gong is adaptable to all fitness levels, and can be done seated or standing based on the needs or preferences of the practitioner. Group classes available.

Classes held in the Community Room 55 minutes - $50 private, $25 semi-
private. Offered by Deirdre Moore.

Reasons to try Tai Chi Chuan and Qi Gong:
Decreases stress and anxiety
Reduces risk of falling
Improves aerobic capacity
Increases energy and stamina
Improves flexibility and balance
Promotes better sleep
Improves muscle definition and joint strength
Enhances focus and concentration

Massage Therapy

Massage is the manipulation of the body's soft tissues. Massage techniques are commonly applied with hands, fingers, elbows, knees, forearms, feet or a device. The purpose of massage is generally for the treatment of body stress or pain.

Community Room

How is community acupuncture different from full-body acupuncture? It is done in a group setting. There are four chairs in the room. Fewer needles are used. It is less than half the normal price. Needles are placed on the extremities (legs, arms, hands, feet and possibly the head).

Reiki practitioners use their hands to deliver energy to your body, improving the flow and balance of your energy to support healing. Reiki treatments typically last about 60 minutes. We will discuss your concerns and areas you would like me to focus. During a session, you'll lie on a massage table fully clothed, as I gently place hands, palms down, on or just above your body in specific energy locations. After the treatment we will discuss your treatment and I will answer any questions you have.

Sound Healing

Sometimes we need to replenish our spiritual reserves or elevate and balance our being. A sound bath is like a massage for the mind. This practice is a deeply meditative, healing journey where you will experience an orchestration of sound that may include quartz crystal singing bowls, with notes aligned to the body’s energy system, gong, chime, and other instruments that will activate the paras... Sometimes we need to replenish our spiritual reserves or elevate and balance our being. A sound bath is like a massage for the mind. This practice is a deeply meditative, healing journey where you will experience an orchestration of sound that may include quartz crystal singing bowls, with notes aligned to the body’s energy system, gong, chime, and other instruments that will activate the parasympathetic nervous system. A sound bath can sometimes shift the brain wave states into Theta or even Delta. In this dreamlike state, time is paused, and brain wave patterns can shift to be more receptive to inspiration, and stress relief allowing for the natural healing of the body, mind, and soul. At the end of this experience, you can expect to enjoy a sense of deep rest and relaxation.

After the birth of her first child, she shifted her creative practice to using fibers, a more accessible and flexible studio practice.

Darke uses her art to develop techniques to help others find ways to create calmer, more peaceful lives. She has created and presented countless art therapy experientials that can be used as an active meditation to regulate mood. (Art & Mindfulness)

Darke has written on the therapeutic aspects of art for magazines, an edited book, as well as co-authored a book - Art Therapy with Transgender and Gender-Expansive Children and Teenagers. Creating art and sharing the benefits of art with the community are essential to her work.

Highly empathic, I have been able to feel when something is wrong with people near me. At times this has happened with friends or family in other parts of the world when I have not spoken to them. It has even happened with strangers in the same room. Because of my experience with chronic health issues as well as depression and anxiety, I’ve always felt the desire to help others. After several years of learning to trust my intuition for my own life, I’ve learned that I can use this intuition to help guide others to what is in their best and highest interest in life. This desire to help others led me to a Reiki Master who could see that I would be a powerful Reiki Practitioner. I signed up for training with him and completed Reiki I and II in June, 2022 followed by Reiki Master training in January 2024.. With 22 years of experience in patient care, my medical background and Intuitive Reiki together we can balance your chakra system, improve emotional and spiritual well being, as well as physical health. My intuition allows for me to receive messages and symbols to guide me in your healing journey. My wish is for you to find peace (Shanti) and balance (Tula) in your life.
